Chart of the Week – Blueprint to Summer
To gauge the effect of vaccinations on COVID-19 and related economic activity, look no further than Israel.
Israel has fully vaccinated 50% of its population in 100 days, and COVID-19 cases have fallen 93% from their peak. In January, total visitors to retail and recreation destinations were down over 60% from the pre-COVID-19 baseline versus down 10% today. We expect similar results in the U.S. as vaccinations ramp up. We believe that the U.S. will have high vaccination rates among the adult population by late spring. By July, it is expected that vaccine supply from Moderna and Pfizer alone will be enough to fully vaccinate the U.S. population 15 years and older.
