Dan Hanson is Chief Investment Officer of Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc. and the company’s asset manager, Ivy Investment Management Company. He is responsible for leading the company’s investment management division.
Mr. Hanson joined the company in June 2019 and has more than 25 years of investment and leadership experience. Prior to joining the company, he served as Portfolio Manager and Managing Director, Office of the CIO with BlackRock from 2003 to 2013, as Partner, Head of U.S. Equities and Co-Chair of the Investment Strategy Committee for Jarislowsky Fraser Global Investment Management from 2013 to 2018 and most recently as Head of Impact Investing for JANA Partners LLC.
Mr. Hanson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from Middlebury College, and earned an MBA, Accounting and Analytic Finance, from The University of Chicago. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Kim Scott is co-portfolio manager of the mid cap growth product suite of mutual funds and institutional accounts. She has been portfolio manager of Ivy Mid Cap Growth Fund since 2001 and of Ivy VIP Mid Cap Growth since 2005. She has been co-portfolio manager of Ivy Mid Cap Income Opportunities Fund since 2014. She assumed co-portfolio manager responsibilities for the mid cap growth product suite in 2016. Ms. Scott joined the organization in 1999 as an equity investment analyst. She was appointed assistant vice president in 2000. She was appointed vice president in 2001 and senior vice president in 2004. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Scott served in various levels of research positions throughout her career affiliated with the following companies: Bartlett & Company, NBD Bank, Johnson Investment Counsel, Inc. and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Her primary responsibilities included fundamental analysis of companies and equities for mutual funds, separate accounts, and personal trusts. Through this experience, Ms. Scott provided sector coverage for consumer non-durables, technology, retail, food and beverage, and tobacco. Ms. Scott graduated from the University of Kansas in 1982 with a BS in Microbiology. She earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Cincinnati in 1987. Ms. Scott is a CFA charterholder. She is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Kansas City.

Chace Brundige is co-portfolio manager of Ivy Asset Strategy Fund and Ivy VIP Asset Strategy since 2014. He was named a portfolio manager of Ivy VIP Pathfinder Portfolios and InvestEd Portfolios in 2016. Mr. Brundige became a member of the portfolio management team of the Waddell & Reed Advisors Wilshire Global Allocation Fund – which was later merged into the Ivy Wilshire Global Allocation Fund – in 2017. The fund is subadvised by Wilshire Associates, Inc. Mr. Brundige joined the organization in 2003 as vice president and assistant portfolio manager to the Large Cap Growth team after a previous tenure with the firm as an equity investment analyst from 1996 to 1999. He was portfolio manager of the firm’s Tax-Managed Equity Fund from 2006 to 2008 and the Global Growth funds from 2009 to 2014. He was appointed senior vice president in 2012. Mr. Brundige began his investment career at UMB Financial Corp. in 1991. He joined Waddell & Reed as an equity analyst in 1996. He joined TCW/WestBridge Ventures LLC in San Francisco as a vice president and limited partner in 1999. Mr. Brundige was an original member of Trust Company of the West’s venture capital arm. He was a vice president and sector head for Citadel Investment Group in 2001. Mr. Brundige graduated from Kansas State University in 1991 with a BS in Finance. He earned an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1996. Mr. Brundige is a CFA® charterholder.
